On Board Air

Installed the kit from onboard air on the weekend. A truely superb aftermarket upgrade that fit first try no mods a direct bolt on. I can fill my (2) 9 gallon tanks in about 1:30 seconds to 200 PSI. This thing really pumps air. To anyone interested the kit is about 1 hour installation tops and has everything you need I did the installation in my garage with basic hand toold. An impact gun is required to remove the alternator pulley thats it.

A great kit.

Are your tanks attached to the truck or are they portable? I'm toying with the idea of adding an air system to mine but have no room under the hood for storage tanks.

Re:On Board Air

Do you have any pics or a website where we can see how this works?

i assume the pump gets turned from the serpentine belt to build air right?
does it have a clutch so its not turned all the time?

thanks for the info

The kit for the Nippondenso alternator is new; he didn't have that one available last time I looked. Uses a clutch and a V-belt that I'm pretty sure runs off a replacement for the alternator pulley that Jamie is talking about removing.

Re:On Board Air

Onboardair is where it is coming from. It runs off the alternator pulley with a new pulley with a V belt on the outside.

As for the alternator I just had to grind a small alumamim fin off the alternator to make it fit. Everything else was bolt on.
