Blown up Cummins

Anyone have pics of one or seen one??? you just don't hear about any blown up Dodge Cummins engines (I have seen my share of L-10's and M-11's blown up at work)... other than the normal lift pump and VP-44

I have a '98.5 Dually 6-speed truck out in the driveway with, what seems like, a broken/bent valve, and a Killer Dowel Pin.

Not exactly "Blown Up" but, enough to keep me off the streets with it.

You want pics? I'll have to really work hard on that one, I'm not to good at taking pictures...

Re:Blown up Cummins

Never seen one, huh? I've got two that are junk. One out of a delivery truck has a 12" long window in the side of it. And an oil pan full of broken parts. And one rod that looks like a horseshoe. The other one only has about a 4-5" window.

Re:Blown up Cummins

i melted the head right off my other 95' doing a burnout..they say 1350 for 30 seconds..take their advise! ...and during a recent visit to Cummins West here in Nor-Cal, there was a 190 Horse medium duty engine in their yard with huge holes in the oil pan with rods hanging out...so yes, anything is possible.

Re:Blown up Cummins

Chris-I will take some pics and send them to ya.

How many strokes and dm's have you seen blown up? That's not a fair question. Because the B motors I have that are junk and all of them I've seen junked are out of med duty or commercial applications. You know way undersized, over worked, maintain poorly,....etc. How many ford or GM's are used in those applications?

Re:Blown up Cummins

I am curious and wondering if any of you have heard of a rolled bearing on #4 piston specifically in a ctd under 100k miles? This just happened to our 98, we are the second owners of it. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Dodge2

98 CTD Quad Cab---"dead" :'(
98 1500 Quad Cab with Sport Package.

We have pics of the bearing if those would be helpful.
