to just replace on ring should be less than 400 in parts that is if no cylinder wall damage. I lost a piston a few months back. I replaced the piston had alll decompressed and recoated,custom cam and springs. and had less than 2500 in everything.

Hmmm, no way to tell. It sounds like an injector or something. Only way to know is tear into it. What you are saying dosen't make sense. If you are burning oil it normally comes out the tail pipe. Any blue smoke out the tail pipe? It will smoke out the vent tube, after working it hard, a little. Only way I can think of that will cause it to smoke out the vent tube is excess crankcase pressure and that is caused by a scored block, bad piston,or bad rings. Not the oil ring.
