Blower Motor
has anybody had to replace a blower motor ? mine is making a pretty annoying squeaking/squealing nose on the #2 fan speed. would it be worth it to try to take the motor out and spray a little WD-40 on the motor bushings if i can reach them ?

nah, not really.
Most times, when you pull the blower motor out,and yard the fan off, you get to see how ugly the brushes/internals are.
Better to change it out. Word to the wise, pay the extra bucks, and get one from the dealer. they run quiet right out of the box, and come with a new fan cage on them. I have yet to find an aftermarket one that runs as smooth and/or quiet as a stocker.

I found getting to the bolt at the firewall a pain in the butt. I ended up by using a flashlight and a mirroor just to get it out..
if you going to try lubing the fan use and oil not WD-40..WD-40 dries out over time and you'll be back to square one. 3-1 oil works well.

Yes I have replaced mine 3 times and the temperature selector control twice. If you open the slector the buss bars will have some blue on them and that is the give away that it is going. You will need I think it is 10 MM socket universal joint and some amount of extentions to the 1/4" wratchet. A 150 W halagen light works well as well. My shoulders don't fit there very well. I did (WE did) it last time it was -12C out. I drove 12 hours to get home with no cab heat at -18*C except the ram air I could get! derrickdog!
