block heater cord
block heater cord
Recently purchased 04 CTD, and am wondering how difficult it is to install the block heater cord. I am most likely going to order the cord from a Cummins shop, and try to install it myself.
The easiness of install is directly proportionate to the size of your hands.
Simple, usually.
Just take the cap off the block heater, plug in the cord and screw on the retaining ring,
then snake the cord to the front of the truck (keeping it away from anything that might melt it or cut into it).

My heater cord from Geno's had 3 plastic locking tabs that could be pushed into existing holes in the frame to route the cord to the fron of the truck. I found it easier to remove the tube from the air filter box to the turbo as my big hands couldn't fit. It still pisses me off that my '05 didn't come with the cord....every other dodge cummins powered truck I have owned or still own came with it.....
