Looks like they said to go 9,000 miles b/t changes, to me. I really need to get that done . . .

They say you could go much longer, but at 38 ppm wear FE at 9000 miles, I would say that is the extent and "most out of the oil" that you are going to get...remember, you are taking uoa's, so you probably want low wear.

Just to note, that oil had been in there since July 07.

It would be better if Blackstone gave you the TBN on every report as its an important number to know when your running 9,000 miles on your oil.

I only run 5k on my oil, filter and fuel filter. I ran this out to 9k for a sample to see where I would be with the Rotella dino. I think with the next sample they would include the TBN but at an extra cost I believe.

Yes IIRC they charge you an extra $10.00 for TBN that should come with every report for no extra charge. That's one reason why I don't use Blackstone to do my UOA's as the Amsoil kit as you get a TBN with every report and at no extra charge.

Has anybody sent a sample of the same oil to both places? Would be interesting to compare the results to see what each company finds.

What kind of oil and filter are you using? 9k miles is great if its a standard dino oil, but if its a synthetic, I'd bet you could go a bit longer. Speaking of which, I really have to get the analysis done on my dodge.. its sitting at about 9k on this oil change.
