A Bit of info

I am installing a gauge on my 2006, I am trying to get 12 volt + i was thinking the sig lighter would be the best ,, so how the heck does one get to the lighter wires??????? or if some one knows what wire would he hot with 12 volts when the key is on and off when the key is off,,

I tied into the fuse block in the engine compartment... I want to say fuse #25, but you need to test those and check (I would run out and check but am deployed, truck is many thousands of miles from here). Can buy one of those cheap little blade fuse tie ins.

Pull the radio bezel..............not an easy task if you have the full ctr cosole

I cheated and used the 12v on the electric brake controller for my gauge.

Space #40 in the fuse box under the hood...for the cigar lighter...20A

Get one of those double fuse holders with the short piece of wire and butt connector on it from the parts store...

Thanks guys , thats what i will do is tap a fuse ,, i do have to say that i have not seen it that clean under a dash like this truck is ,, my 98 is a mess with wires a stuff.

I use the wire that is in the bundle of wires that are by where your left foot rests. I remember it was the pink but I forget what color stripe it was..sorry but it was the same as the cigar lighter closest to the driver. Hope that helps some.
