bigger tires on a 2WD...

It's getting tire time for my truck and I'm looking at maybe stepping up a size or two.

For you 2 wheel drive guys, what is the biggest sized tire you've run without EXCESSIVE rubbing on your truck? I have the stock 2002 model aluminum wheels on my truck by the way.

Thanks!

Well, my guess would be 265's, but I could be wrong. I've never had a 2wd, but w/ as much clearance w/ the 265's on a 4wd, I don't see how rubbing would be too much of an issue.

P.S. If you are just looking for bigger rear tires, and want to look like a chicken farmer, I have some 34" ones I could let go for a very reasonable price.

on my '97 2wd I ran 265/75's. They look allot better than those puny 245's.

For awhile I ran 33"x12.50's on the back. Pulling a cattle trailer in the pasture I was getting stuck in wet grass. So I got some 33" mud tires and didnt look back. They were cheaper than a 4wd at the time. lol
