I'm running 35" tall tires & have noticed that my stopping distance has increased accordingly.

I'm trying to find some way to stop the bugger faster/better without breaking the bank.

Is there some type of options out there-i cant seem to find anyone who's done the same thing.

My problem is not with heat-i have not warped my rotors or smelt burning friction material before, its just simply my excessive stopping distances during an emergency stop.

My tires are not going anywear, i like the way they look too much.

Does the SRT truck have bigger/better brakes than the cummins?

I believe the brakes are the same across the board for the 2500 and 3500. You might try some EBC green stuff pads. There are alot of people on here that run them and have describe them as doing what you are wanting to do.

I would think the SRT truck would have bigger rotors and some nice aluminum calipers, not sure if there bigger or not, our brakes are pretty large. But I do believe SSBC and other after market brake companys are starting to build some kits for our trucks.

I've read on here that upgrading to the EBC pads has helped out a lot, don't forget to make sure you rotors are true before you put the new pads on, just in case they might be warped a hair.

They only have 5 or 6 lugs...no go!

Are you sure it is poor performace or just a different feel of more required pedal pressure? My truck can lock up all of my 37's?

I would love to have better brakes. I just replaced the brakes,rotors, spindle bearings and calipers on my dually and the truck stops good but if you load it-it could use much better brakes!!

There doesn't seem to be any off the shelf improvements except upgraded pads. None of the big brake companies that I know of make better calipers or rotors. Companies like Baer make rotors, but they're just a cosmetic upgrade.

There are a few options on pads: EBC, Hawk, and Performance Friction. I wouldn't hesitate to use any of those products. If you do swap the pads, make sure you resurface the rotors, and bed in the new pads EXACTLY as per the instructions.

The SRT-10 came from the factory with Viper brakes. And I've herad of people swapping them into the Ram trucks with a few custom made parts. But the SRT-10 uses the 1500 chassis. I'v not heard of anyone succesfully adding them to a HD truck.

I havent been able to lock up my little 35's with the stock system on pavement, but havent really tried that hard either.

the feel of the brakes is alright with normal stop & go driving, but during an emergency stop, or just a fast stop, the peddle can keep going while the truck does too.

the brakes are in decent shape, with 60K on them they are at about 50%.

These EBS Green pads, whats the scoop with them? What makes them so much better than stock? Would a guy replace the rears as well as the steering pads? I think my rears are still almost brand new.

Pad material can make a huge differance in brake performance. The trade off is usually more dust, and shorter pad life.

I have stock brakes with 35K miles. I have never felt that they were inadequate.
