big pay cut
I was notified that my $3500 pay raise I got a year ago was a "miss interpretation of the union contract" and not only do I lose the raise but have to pay back the "overpayment"

Tell them to get edited and I wouldn't give them one red cent back. They gave you the payraise and shouldn't be able to take it back unless you agree or they "You're FIRED" you.

Could it be the AFL-CIO? You supporting/voting for Bush? Perhaps a bumpersticker on the truck that is "NOT" in line with the tolerant, all excepting party of love and peace?
Found it interesting how the union goons can do property damage and bodily harm to republican campaign staffers/headquarters. So much for tolerence, go figure?

it is a state employer
teaching union relationship
according to "state law" they can recover the money if they overpaid
our union just threw up their hands and did nothing for the 23 of us who are in this situation
not a good situation for the guy who just built a house (me)

I feel for you. We were just offered a 1% raise at work and our union's response to the offer was "Times are tough, you should just accept whatever they offer you".
Makes it tough seeing those union dues taken out of my check.

Unions are doing all they can given what we have to work with. Unions can't stop companies from outsourcing. Now white collar jobs are going oversees too. I'll be voting for the candidate who at least says he'll pass incintives for companies to keep jobs here. Our current administration is in favor of cheap labor and corporate profits. A living wage in America is not too much to ask. An administration in favor of living wages for employees as well as corporate profits would be nice. On my union wage, we live in a 930sq ft house with no garage on a small lot. I'm not going in debt with hopes that our current administration's promises and smoke and mirror job outlook is true. Manufacturing jobs are being outsourced while low paying service jobs are being filled by illegal aliens. The wealthy tried it 200 years ago and look what happened. Now they're trying it again. It just looks a little different.

The problem with Kerry is he will say what the people want to hear. Look at his voteing record. And if you don't think taxes will be raised to pay for all the promissed programs I've got some property I'll sell you 200 miles west of here.
My wife works for the government & all the employee's were overpaid varrying amounts. My wife's was $22.00 They are going to spend $$$$ to get this money back. Another fine example of Gov. waste.
