Big fuel line kit questions
Okay, I've done numerous searches, and read through everything I could find, ad nauseam and have a few questions. I have the highly sought after, highly desirable in tank retro pump (I know, you're all envious). Most of the Big Line kits I've seen appear to just change the line and fittings from the filter housing to the VP44. Like most of you, I'm on a budget. I would like to be able to do the Draw Straw II and a whole new pump and big line kit but can't quite do it at this time. So at a minimum I'm going to install a FP gauge and Big line kit with the "T" from the filter to VP44. From what I've read, this helps with pressure and flow. I plan on keeping it pretty bone stock.
What I'm not exactly clear on is, while still keeping the intank pump, do you change the plumbing from the tank to the filter as well or keep the original steel tubing?

yup same here did mine about 3-4feet away from the tank right under the transfer case skid plate idle, is 15-16psi WOT 13-14psi plus if need be I can change the LP easy

With the Vulcan kit, you cut the metal fuel line near the fuel tank and place a 3/8 hose over it. This hose connects to the input on the lift pump. The output of the lift pump is 1/2 to the fuel filter and also to the injection pump.
Since you have the in-tank pump, Call Eric @ Vulcan and talk to him. He will send you what you need.

Joe Diesel, thanks for the photo. Which pump is that?
I wish the new pump conversion on the frame rail did not include the removal of the tank for the Draw Straw II install. It sure would make it easier.
I live pretty close to Eric at Vulcan and will probably just drive over and see him. Thanks for the help.

Okay, thanks. Since my pump is in the tank, then the new hose goes from where I've spliced into the metal fuel line directly to the fuel filter with a new replacement fitting on the fuel filter inlet?

It is some kind of special deal for those running an in-tank lift pump. The picture JoeDiesel posted is the "normal" lift pump that has been relocated by the vulcan kit.

As far as the Vulcan kit, I've seen that one and was going to ask Eric about it. From what I understand it's basically a FF to VP kit with an extra FF inlet JIC fitting and hose so you can cut into the metal fuel supply line from the tank to the filter. It's my understanding that the main purpose of the inlet fitting and hose is to eliminate a Banjo fitting at the inlet to the filter? Does this not still leave you with 1/4" metal tubing from the tank to where you have spliced in from the hose to the filter? From the searches I've done on this site, it sounds like the greatest help to fuel pressure is from eliminating the Banjo fittings and not neccessarily replacing the supply line with a bigger diameter?

I to have the intank pump. After installing the Juice w/Attitude I could drop my fuel pressure down to 2 psi. I installed the Vulcan big line kit (for the intank pump) now I can't drop it below 6 psi which I can live with.
