So I jumped up on this QSK50 today and I actually said holy crap out loud. hands down without doubt the biggest turbos I have in person seen on a diesel burning engine. AND each bank is compounded. God bless Cummins.............doing compound quads as an OEM.
dual holsets. HT100's feeding HX93's

these are frac engines. QSKTA50-CE 2300hp rated (1697.2Kw measured) S9820M series Allison. it measured 45psi boost at rated speed and load (312.8 kPa)
we setup 5 engines and trannys for BJ services.

Its oilfield equipment. specifically wellhead service equipment. The unit is a Fracture pump. engine drives the transmission, tranny driveshaft to pump. really simple just really big. for being mobile. the key is getting the most horsepower they can get on 1 trailer.
basically oil and gas is trapped in rock formations underground right. to be the well flowing faster. a fluid substance, usually corrosive. is pumped downhole and literally fractures the rock formations freeing up more oil or gas. they hook these rigs up in parallel. for really big deep wells.

Waterous Calgary.
Cummins does make some really big engines-- especially for power gen applications and such.
Rumor has it the even bigger ones are coming down the pike!
Currently the biggest Cummins engine is the QSK78 a V18 of 3500hp.
It's huge.

yup I know of that one too. but we don't see it around here. mostly in prime mover power generation or the really big rock trucks.
