The big "A" is back in the big "C"

Finally got AMSOIL back in the big Cummins. It's had dino oil in it since I got it back from Scheids and I was worried about it the whole time. It finally rolled 5000 miles since I got it back and it was ready for the big A again. Fourteen quarts and two filters later, she's purring on the big A again.

Actually, I wasn't worried a bit but since Jack is out of town, Lary is on the road, Ed was not here, and Dennis is getting ready to hit the road, I figured it was time to start an oil war while the adult supervision was gone. You know what they say about the mouse while the cat it is away.

I was running Rosmella the whole time. I am still running it in the 92 diesel too. So you see, I still use the dino stuff like some others.

(now donning fire proof suit and body armor)

Youn's have a good day now. Going up north next weekend to take the grand baby up to show the folks.

He He He... aren't oil wars fun? I think synthetic is a waste of money unless you're doing extended drains or you live in the frozen Northland, eh. Not that it stopped me from pouring Rotella synthetic in my truck this afternoon. I can't plug in at work and I feel guilty about starting the poor old girl dead cold every afternoon. Gonna dump it in the spring and run some Pennzoil HD I got for $3.89 a gallon on clearance for the summer. With the soot these POD injectors belch out I gotta start changing the oil more than once a year.

Anyway, here's my inflammatory statement to start this oil war off right: Everybody who is changing their oil at less than 5k intervals is wasting their money.

I agree and I agree.

I am running 20000 mile intervals. How about that.

Nothing inflammatory in that statement, wannadiesel. I agree with you. I use dino in my cars, but Amsoil in my CTD, as I want it to run 500K miles or so. I'm just about to order the double-bypass filter system like Dieseldude 4x4's.

DPG, make sure you get Johns stainless hose kit and billet adapter. They are quality parts for sure.
