BHAF lifetime

I'm thinking about replacing my BHAF now. I was curious, under highway driving conditions, how many miles or months should a BHAF be replaced? I do not use a heat shield or Outerwears cover. Thanks.

It could easily last 20-30 thousand miles, I would think. Shining a light through it will give you an idea of how much fine dirt is plugging up the pores. Did you install your filter minder onto the BHAF when you installed it?

thanks torquefan, I did not install the filter minder, I wasn't sure how to incorporate it.

drill a hole in the stock piping or the bottom of the filter and stick in the filter minder....that simple, just make sure you clean the shavings and seal it properly.

I would think an easy 30K miles...the thing is huge, idk what the actual surface area is, but its easily 200% bigger than a stock filter...

nope, highway conditions the life span is 50~60k
