BFG, Toyo or ? Tires

I know this is a common topic of discussion........

I currently have 315/75/16's BFG's on my truck and they appear to abe a bit wobbly at 60+ MPH. I'm considering dropping down to a 295/75/16 as it seems there are better load range tires available.

With a slight lift on the truck I'm trying to get as much performance out of a larger tire as possible.

Looking for input before I spend $$$$ and get all

Thanks in advance..........

What do you mean by "wobbly"? A shake or vibration? Or just soft, squirmy, sluggish handling behavior? A shake or vibration is most likely from worn or out of adjustment steering components, the effects of which can be amplified by larger tires. A soft, squirmy feel from the tires can often be attributed to using tires with load ratings less than what these trucks need. BFG only offers 315/75R16 tires with a Load Range D, 8 ply rating which I personally believe is not suitable for a Ram CTD, especially one used to haul or tow. My truck had Load Range D/8 ply rated 315/75R16 tires on it when I purchased it and the steering and general handling felt very soft, squirmy, and sluggish. When I replaced them with Toyo M/Ts of the same size but with a Load Range E/10 ply rating, the steering and handling were noticably more firm, stable, and responsive. I have been extremely pleased with both the on and off road performance of these tires.

I'll second the Toyo M/T vote.
I absolutly loved them on my Ram. 10 ply and wear better than a AT of most other brands.

i got a lil better then 50,000km on my Toyo 315's thats with some gravel some heavy hauling as well as rotating them every 8,000km. i did get 90,000 km out of my BF 295's at's but the traction is far better with the toyo in my opinion.
