Best way to attach topper to truck???
Hello...
Going to be purchasing a topper soon. What is the best way to attach the topper to the truck bed? I have an old truck with a topper. It has aluminum frame rails. It actually is bolted to the truck bed with 6 bolts. I am unsure about boltting the new style toppers because they use a fiberglass frame rail (I think). However I am not a big fan of the clamps either.
Any advice? Also do you put anything on top of the bed rails before attaching the top.
By the way pretty much decided on a Leer 100XQ. Thanks!

I had clamps on my last one ant they held over 300 lbs on top of the weight of the camper shell while wheeling through some pretty tough spots with no problems. Make sure to seal between shell and bed with the correct weatherstripping.
