well if its an 8/04 truck it would make it and 04.5. Check your vin # the 10th number will tell you. If the number is a 4 then its an 04.5 and if its a 5 then its an 05. If its an 04.5 i would put a HOT J/A in it.

This is the first I have heard of a "tuning flaw" on 04.5-05 trucks. Can anybody elaborate on this?

Smarty works awesome in my 05,
A friend has an 04.5 with a 6spd, he ran 6 gun and then juice/attitude, I wasn't impressed with either, My $300 quadzilla box seemed to make similar power to either of them (he didn't have HOT unlock)

I have a Quad Race box and am happy with it. I just got back from a 1,000 mile trip thru WV and PA. Old 2 land / 4 lane on the way mostly 65-70 MPH, then little towns and I hit 300 miles at 3/4 of a tank. I go there and did a lot of stop and go and turned 500 just below 1/2. I had the box turned up, normally I run on level 3. At this point I was getting concerned that my fuel guage was broken so I stopped and filled up.

Where did you hear that?? I have 2 '05's and neither have any "tuning flaws" that I have ever seen/felt.

Seen it on a guys truck on this site. He hit a bump in the road when big twins. Put down lots of power with it but with smarty he ran out of tuneing. No offense to u.(I talked with him last night bout this)

Both my buddies put down more power on bullydog in an 05 then I have seen with smarty! Just my opinion. There was a good post bout smarty on compd also. Read it.

I will be testing a smarty tnt-r if bob will give it to me vs bullydog next month after break in period.

Its ur money spend on what u want but the tnt makes my truck surge along with a few others. Plus u have to be a big shot to get special attention on smarty tuneing as to all the others u don't. Again jmo.

Sorry to derail ur thread

i got the bully dog PMT and its cool, I also managed to get an old version of crazy larry. but if your only concerned with power, the triple dog and pedofile larry is awesome. also, if you go that route on a stock truck it will get hot, so.....
