1998 {Stock} 4X4 standard Cab Cummins. I am looking to put some new tires on my truck and need some opinions. I have not been able to get anymore than 20,000 miles out of the tires that I usually purchase. I was wondering what you guys run with good luck (mileage). The tire size is LT285/75R16 A/T. Thanks for the help!

Toyo M-55's. They are expensive, but worth it in my opinion. If I could get them in a 17" , 33" tall size for my '07 that I have to pick up, I would, no questions asked.

Michelin LTX's. I 've gotten 74K miles out of mine. I just recently bought another set. Great tires.

Michelin have to soft side wall not good for off road ok for highway
Big O got 78000 on a set and good year is ok.

I do zero off roading so the Michelins were great for me. I was putting on a lot of miles a year and was getting about 38K from most other tires.

Michelins have my vote also. Good for milage and run quiet on the highway..

Michelin LTX all the way. I have the M/S and even though they are not the best in the snow they are a long lasting tire.

It really depends on what you do with them. The others have made some good suggestions. I find the BFG All Terrains the best all purpose tires for me. The last set I had lasted 50k, and still had pretty good tread on them.

I have Delta Sierradials in 265/75-16 and they are wearing great! Not too bad in the snow, either.

i have always purchased kelly springfield tires ... however since i bought these yokahoma's i will proly stick with these as they were used when i got them and still have a ton of tread left to go

I have had 2 sets of Big O A/T's got 80,000 out of first set and have 55,000 on second set with a lot remaining. I tow my 8,000 lb travel trailer about 30-35% of those miles. When towing I run 80 psi in rears and 70 psi in fronts. Empty I run 60 psi all around.

If you can stand having the same tires for 100,000 miles then get the Toyo M-55. I've always used them but changed to the new Toyo H/T recently. I feel they will last just as long but are less aggressive than the M-55 which makes them quieter and will probably result in better mpgs.

Where do you buy the M55s? I can't seem to find anyone in the States who sells them. I can order them from someone in Canada, but that takes an already expensive tire and makes it completely unaffordable.

Thanks for the suggestions. I thought about my application a little more and realized that I have been taking my truck through a little off-road terrain (recently). We plan on going to this area for dirt bike riding more often and need something that can handle some stress (rocks, etc). However, this truck is mostly used for around town and highway. I really need a well balanced tire that can handle an off-road session a time or two. The last thing I need is a blown sidewall and an angry wife
