Question Best Timing/ fuel box?

I currently have a Edge EZ and am thinking of getting something with more of a timing and duration function instead of just fuel pressure. I'm not wanting to highly modify the truck at all so really high horse power is not needed. I'm use my truck for mostly towing my 10,000 horse trailer and daily driving so a fuel mileage increase would be great also. I currently get between 16-18 most of the time and about 12-13 towing. Any suggestions?

Especially since you are towing you should get gauges and upgrade the exhaust before adding more power. The Banks Six-Gun seems to be working pretty well these days for adding power and mileage.

The feedback I have recieved on the power pup downloader is good power and fuel economy on 90hp setting as you will see in many of the posts on this site as for edge they will have the juice available for the 03-04 in about 4-6 months

Appydriver, Your milage looks pretty good as is, I dont think a box will increase it much. I have the banks and I wish I had your milage.

The biggest drawback to towing mileage increases with the EZ is the bulk of the pressure increase is later in the RPM range. Its programming is such that it builds pressure slower down low. The top end power increase is good though. More pressure in the low range will increase mileage some while towing, but can get EGT out of control with heavy loads. Remember the EZ is a box for the masses and the programming cant be too aggressive for those who refuse to buy gauges or never get told to buy gauges.

Thanks for all the info. There are just so many different boxes out there its hard to tell which is really the best. I have no complaints with the Edge the truck runs great and pulls well. I wish that it was ajustable in the cab and that has got me thinking about the Ramifier which they say is now adjustable or one of the other adjustable boxes. But I have had Zero problems with the Edge box so I don't really be gaining by trying something else.

Best Box Hands Down!!!

Appydriver,

The only box to have that mods the timing and fuel duration without any pressure changes is the TST Powermax CR. I have had this box on my 03 3500 for about a year. I would not try anything else for quick easy power and is limited to your desires. If you want to add twins a clutch and a primary fuel supply pump you can create as much HP and TQ than that vehicle can support without adding boxes down the line. It enhances mpg if you can drive it to get fuel mileage, it is very hard for me to do that, the additional power "ROCKS". You will not have the pressure problems that those who elect to raise pressure are having. You will be limited to 4 by 4 settings with stock configuration. My clutch will try letting go on a 4 by 4 setting, this thing is truly unbelievable (radiacal might be a better term) BTW I'm not a salesman I'm just giving my .02

there is also the VA timing /duration box
tst has a bit more punch though

both the VA and the TST are stackable with your EZ
the banks is pressure and timing and is not stackable with your EZ
some are stacking the banks and BDDL but may be a bit too much pressure

Agades,

Is this new with VA? I knew they had the duration box and a fueling box, but as of a few months ago they were working on timing but didn't have the both together. Has this changed?

I talked to VA about a month ago and there was no change in product line in production at this time.(quote) Although,my response to appydriver is that the VA is reported to be a very simple installation and is on the fly adjustable while having a negligable effect on miliage. Taking the other considerations into account may be stretching the response to the question, but why not take the whole package ,it's free! Also be sure to check out Dougs matrix for a comparison.
