Ok, what is your experiences and best product you've used to protect your trucks bodies / frames ?

I have had pretty good luck with POR 15. Multiple THIN coats is key and making sure surface is oil and grease free. I have used the Metal Prep solution prior to applying the POR-15. Since you are doing the frame and it is out of view of the sun/ultra violet rays you don't have to paint over it but never hurts to do so. Congrats on the truck!

I used a rust converter made by Lawson

and followed that up with a coat of rustoleum satin black (brush on). easy to apply and has weathered several winters with little to no degradation (read rust bleed thru).

I have used a product called picklex20. I have used it on my 1969 Mustang Mach 1 428 CJ restoration. After I stripped the body to bare metal i brushed on picklex20 before priming. I also have several pieces of the car that haven't been painted yet and they have yet to form any rust. Zero, nada, none. Excellent product. Very similar to ospho but 100 times the product. Just thought I would pass it along. Ron

I've used POR-15 but since have switched to Rust Encapsulator by Eastwood. It comes in different colors and is UV stable.

Last winter I sandblasted the frame of my M880 and the steel flat bed I got to go on it. Then brushed on the Rust Encapsulator. Also comes in an aerosol for those cavities and hard to reach places.

So far so good but its just been this spring & summer. Pricey but seems to be good stuff.
