Best option for transmission with limited budget

Here's the deal. My transmission is shot or it needs solenoids. I have about 2k to spend on it. I want to rebuild it to the point where it can handle a good amount of power for the future. I tow, but nothing heavy(just a 24 foot boat). What should my priorities be. Rebuild the tranny with heavy duty clutches and a good torque converter? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Your pretty much there, but you'll need a few more bucks...a HD TC from ATS, HTS, Goerend, DTS or Suncoast will run you about 1000-1500 bucks. You can get a $500 billet TC from an off-brand and they are way better than stock, but still aren't on par with the previously mentioned companies. HD clutch packs will be great, but put more line pressure on them with a shift kit, they are about $100 give or take.

So: Billet TC
HD Clutch Packs
Shift Kit
and any money left over I would put toward a Billet input shaft.

One of Michigans best kept secrets. Great reputation, great builder, builds them and runs them. Nice people. Top notch work.
