Best Manual For Assembly

I'm getting ready to asemble my new engine. The new block that I recieved from Cummins has quite a few parts that I can't figure where they go. Mostly washers and some orings. What cummins manual would have the details I need to assemble this thing correctly the first time?

Have it, didn't show all of the parts. Does have most of it though. I'll re-read it again, maybe I missed something.

How close is Gibsonia to Ellwood City?

Service Manual or shop manual? I have the main service manual and it shows basic assembly, torque values, dimensions, etc but didn't go into the specifics in regards to o-rings. Your right that thing was expensive. Good book to have.

There is only a few items in the parts box included with the block that I can't figure out. I probably should just post the pictures and see what you guys say they are or where they go.

Thanks Logskidder. The manual I thought may have all the little details was 3666017(Shop Manual). I don't want to spend the cash (again) without making sure.

ctd89-99 Maybe one day we'll cross paths, I get down to New Castle and Ellwood City a couple times per month. PLan on attending a few events this year.

I dug it out and blew the dust off....part #3666193-01, however looking it I dont think it will do you much good if you have a part and dont know where it belongs.

Thanks logskidder. That is the manual that I had purchased. Good book but as you said it doesn't point to what part goes where.

Does anybody have the Shop Manual, 3666017? I know on my tractors the shop manuals have expanded drawings of each of the assemblies.

Will do. Part box is at machine shop so I will get it next week and post it. In the meantime I talked to Cummins and they suggested the parts book. It has exploded assembly details in it.
