I'm running Vitiva E range 265/75/16s, I think they're a mid range riding tire. They do have good mileage around 30,000 to 40,000 miles, which is good for such a heavy truck and they wear flat. I want to run 285/75/16s, but want to switch to different tire brand that would give me better steering comfort at the wheel.

What do suggest for a 285/75/16 E range tire?

the the 265's, there are a lot of affordable options IMO, but in the 285's, I'd say the BFG AT's are about as good as it gets for the money. I paid $172/tire at Discount Tire!

I put a set of Uniroyal Larado HD's on mine about 6000 miles ago. Pleased with them so far. They are quiet on the road, and good handling. I dont know how many miles I'll get, but so far so good.

i just put a set of kumhos on my truck they ride nice so far but they are the stock size for winter time

My BFG AT 265's are a D Range tire. The load rating is 3048 lbs., the same as the 245 E rated Goodyears I took off the truck.
They're fairly quiet on the highway. I did notice a bit more roll turning corners. I've got 25K miles on them. They won't see another winter.

Ive got a set of 285/75R16 BFG A/T KOs on my truck right now. They've been on there since I bought the truck but Im not real happy with them. There is some pretty good roll in the corners and the truck wants to dart around on the hwy if its windy out. Part of this could be the steering in the truck but I blame it on the D load rating. On top of this they are wearing really wierd in the front. I'll probably be switching to a different tire very soon...

I had BFGG 315's on the truck before that were rated at like 3400ish, but it still felt like riding on baloons...

the 285 E's are rated like 3600+ I believe. The truck rides/drives so much better on these than it did on the 315's

I put a set of Uniroyal Larado HD's on my truck back in June or July. I have about 5 or 6 thousand on the tires already. They ride quiet and are fairly aggresive in all driving conditions even mud.

what psi are you running?
im running 42 lbs all around and it rides awesome.
I love my BFG AT 285x75x16's.

I'm pretty sure your front end/axle needs from refreshing with parts and or an alignment. Mine are wearing extremely nice and smooth.

In 265e I loved the bridgestone dueler REVO's. They are probably one of the best tires I have ever used. Great traction in all conditions except deep mud. Got 58k out of my first set and just over 60k on the second set. However they didnt make a 285 e and I needed a bit more aggresive tread for the mud I get in so I switched to Toyo M55's. So far they are holding up well. They are a bit noisey for me but other than that they have been doing very well though I only have about 13k on them so far.

but at 1000 a set for a 285 size, YEOWZERS!!

Also considerable for top mileage, the Michelin Highway rib in 10 ply will last a long time, Michelin Extra traction also, i have seen a set go 85K with proper rotation and everything..
