Best Combo of a chip and injectors
With tax returns coming up I've been trying to figure out what would be the best combination i could find. I'd like to go with the stage 3 jammer nozzles, and i've been looking at the the edge juice w/ attitude chip, then again i've read that the Xzillaraider chips are USB updateable with different tunes available for download from their site. But if given, say, $1,000 what would be the best combination? I've also been wondering about how well injectors would work with the chips? I wouldn't mind a little smoke out of the truck since i put on the stacks now
Also, I've already added an aftermarket lift pump on the frame rail and a new injection pump, as well as boost and EGT gauges as well as a low fuel pressure indicator. However i still have the stock downpipe and exhaust running to the the Y-pipe for my stacks as well as a stock intake system. I am considering the injectors because i plan on adjusting my valves soon and would like the get the injectors re-calibrated while I'm working on it, so what better time for an upgrade?

I have Stage 3 nozzles and the Quad XZT+ with stock exhaust and turbo and this is an incredible combo. The USB port makes it seem like you have multiple boxes and it tows like a dream. I can get my truck sideways when it hits 2nd...if I wanted to.

If it were me I'd get an AFE Stage 1 intake first, A chip of your choice, then some jammer 3's or 4's and that should take care of All of your Tax return money

Welcome, the 1st thing you need to do is set a goal as to what your gonna mainly use your truck for, now once you have that figured out then the combo will be easier to decide upon, do it right the 1st time and it will cost you a whole lot less, so are you gonna tow or is it just your fun daily driver? good luck, and once you start bombing its very hard to stop, also check the classifieds because you can always find awesome deals, I made my power on 98% used parts from the classifieds of DTR and Ebay.

I use my truck as a daily driver although I do tow on occasion too, mostly quads but I do have a 79 bronco thats kind of a weekend warrior and despite all the rust it's still quite heavy. I'd definately like my truck to pull that around a little easier than it does already. I've been collecting parts to upgrade to 4" to the stacks but haven't gathered everything i need yet and a better intake has been on the list as well, I figured I'd buy the spendy stuff with taxes and buy the rest out of pocket. I'm definately interested in more of a 'on-the-fly' programmer than a downloader as well because ya never know when you may want to flip from a fuel mileage tune to haul *** tune on the freeway I'll look through the classifieds and see what I can find as well. Anyone know of any shops capable of pop testing the injectors around Portland, OR?
:edit: I was thinking of getting the stage 3 jammers but was wondering how much smoke, if any, this would cause the truck to produce under normal driving conditions? I wouldn't mind being able to crank up a programmer and get it to pour some coal, but I don't want it to have the smokescreen behind the truck wherever I go.

With the stage 3 jammers smoke isn't an issue unless you want it to be. When pulling, I normally turn my XZT+ to timing only and it's no problem. Now running around town, I can flip the switch to fuel/timing and lay some clouds (if I wanted to) or I can easily drive it daily without smoke even on fuel/timing as long as you don't mash the go peddle.

From what I've read and listened to others.....I tow also:
1. Be able to monitor everything you have: engine/trans temps, egts, boost, fp
2. Get the air out before you get it in. Exhaust then intake. AFE1 or Amsoil
3. From what I've read users say the Jammers are smokey... at all levels and the cheap route, I'm not exactly sure but the Mach2s would probably be about the best for towing.
4. The S-chip is great and the truck flies but I have nothing to compare it too other than what I've read....leading me to a Smarty as I've seen zero complaints.
5. Probably a clutch as I'm sure the stocker will be toasted.
Just ideas as everyone has different use for their truck.

So far from what i've read i really like the sounds of the new adrenaline box from quadzilla, What 'stage' injector do you think would work out for the best with that?
