Bent hitch or receiver?

Got rearended by a Honda Accord this weekend. Luckily I had my 10" drop QuickHitch in that took just about all of the hit. Got a little scuff on the bumper some chrome bubbling. With the QuickHitch in it now leans in toward the truck a little rather than straight down. I put a square on the QuickHitch and it appears to check out square although it was difficult to tell due to the design and not being able to get the square on it reall well. Wondering if the hitch is actually tweaked now?

Any thoughts? When the insurance man comes to inspect I am going to push for replacement of the hitch, receiver, and the bumper. Of coarse I am already picked out a FabFours rear bumper!

More the likely the drop hitch acted like a lever arm and increased the force on the hitch and bent it down slightly, I would push for it to be replaced especially if you tow with it.

And make sure the frame isn't tweaked. Depending on how hard you were hit, that guy could have done some serious damage you can't see.

I had the same thing happen to me. The hitch went thru the hood, radiator and cracked the head of the Cavalier that rear ended me! Insurance paid for a new receiver and hitch. I agree, make sure the look long and hard at the frame.

Estimate will be for new hitch, receiver, bumper, my labor time, and time for a frame shop to check out the frame.
