Belt Tensioner
Bearing in my pulley on my tensioner was starting to go bad and some what the tensioner part itself. I picked up a Gates brand tensioner and pulley yesterday after work and installed it. First thing I noticed is the new tensioner looks alot beefier than the original one did and the pulley is metal instead of plastic. I also noticed after I started up the truck and ran it that when I shut it down the truck no longer makes the belt chirp. I have a new belt and now a new tensioner and it doesn't chirp anymore like the truck did before. It never bothered me that the belt chirped, I know most cummins do. Anyways the engine sounds alot healthier now without that bearing making noise.
