Belt Tensioner

Well, It looks like I wore another one out. I replaced the first one at 85K. Now with the Ticker on 161K This one is starting to get weak.

On cool damp mornings, it's giving me that faint hissing squeel until she warms up. I pressed on the belt with my finger and it feels on the slack side.

Anyone have a source for a heavy duty one?

I just took mine apart and put grease on the inside of the pulley and it has been good for 20 or 30,000

The stock one on my 1996 was a Dayco. I got an exact replacement from Advance auto for about half what the Cumins dealer wanted. I keep the old in the workbox as a backup.

good luck.
