Been awhile...need some help with tire wear
Hey Yall,
Been out of it for a bit, Im back now. Still loving life on Dual Wheels.
I have a question though...
I replaced EVERYTHING in the front end of my 1998.5 3500 Dually.
EVERYTHING
track bar (and bushing)
link bushings
tie rods (inner and outer and the ends)
ball joints
bearing assy's
power steering gear (3 times)
and aligned it all.
My truck is STILL eating the outside of the tires, and wonders ALL OVER THE ROAD... It will track straight on a flat surface, and this is usually brought on by a change in the crown of the road.
the faster I go the straighter it runs (less wander)
I can tell the steering is tight, but something is making the response sluggish.
the toe was set by measuring the front and rear inside of the tires, and then tuning it.
Nothing I have done (aside form the 3rd steering gear correcting play in the system) has made any difference...
I have replaced EVERYTHING... What do I look at next?
Could this be a Caster set wrong? it is wearing the outside edge of the tires off QUICKLY, and Ive moved the toe in and out with no change.
I have set many front ends and when I had them aligned they were very close to dead on, nothing like this...
Maybe this is something that can only be seen by an alignment machine?
PLEASE HELP TIRES FOR THIS THING ARE EXPENSIVE!!! EVEN USED ONES!!!
