BD Super B or HTT 62/65/13ss

Need some opinions guys. My truck is mainly a daily driver, haul fire wood about 3 times a year, gets a little muddy during hunting season and like to get on it from light to light and play now and then. I want a turbo that is reliable, better then stock, not alot of lag and fits my application. So far I think one of these would be good but need some opinions please. Later on when my stock sticks need replaced i'll upgrade to 50hp sticks.
Thanks

Both are great turbos, but I'd go with the 62/65/13ss, but like I said both turbos are great units...

My 62/65 works great....even though I've only had it 3 weeks....pulls hard all through the power band. I love it.

Agreed, that would be the more suitable choice

HTT's stainless turbine housing & twin wastegate are a clear advantage... more $$$ though.

Super B also has twin volutes, but I agree.
The 62/65/13 is a better, slightly bigger turbo .... but not to big for a working automatic!

Hey thanks guys for all the input. I think i'm leaning towards the 62/65/13ss, stainless exhaust manifold and maybe put some 7" dual stacks on her before my trip to Bristol Motor Speedway next sunday. I've been emailing TRE(Tim) for opinions also and availabilty. Thanks for the opinions.

I've had that same size HTT for around 20-30k miles, next to the 5.9 engine, that is the next best piece of equip on my truck! Gosh I love it! Day in, day out with 430hp, and pulling 30k# plus truck weight. You will not be disappointed at all!

Yeah, thats what i'm going to go with. Deciding if I should get it polished or not, its not like its a show truck and its sits high enough that you really can't see the turbo anyway. Should I get a stainless manifold or a fab shop header, is one better then the other?

Wait a minute! Sorry don't mean to hijack. You are going to run the 62/65-13ss with just a smarty and a tranny? So my 64/65-13 should be pretty good considering I have Ad2, flux1's, and going to get the smarty sr. I've been kind of worried about it lately.

Between what i've read, guys from this site and cumminsforum, and talking to Tim from TRE, if I want a HTT this is the better one for my application. So yeah thats what i'm going with. With you and your setup and especially the fact that you have a manual instead of a auto it sounds like you'll be fine.

I have the Fab Shop Header, I LOVE it, great piece, well made, nice addition, I'd do it again. I am planning to bolt up the HTT 62/65/13 ss turbo some time this summer.

I've seen your picks of your manifold that thing looks tuff. Does it put alot of heat against your intake tube cause on my manifold it has like some sort of heat sheild on it between my tube and manifold. Is that header built strong and handle being bounced around on the dirt roads and such. Thanks

I trimmed the stock heat shield, made it a little shorter by a couple inches, painted it with a good heat resistant paint, and re-installed it. While there was several inches clearance between the header and the cool hose, and I ran it without the shield for a couple months, I decided it was a good idea to have it.

I've got about 10K on the header,I live on a VERY BUMPY washboard road and on my place I do use my truck in 4WD, all seems just fine. The welds on the manifold are done to perfection, itis solid as a rock. I am still very happy with the header.
