Bd short shifter fix.

I broke the the threaded end off of my bd short shifter this weekend and found a pretty decent way to fix it. Mine broke where it's underut at the base of the threads. I did some checking and a 1/2" NPT die is about right to thread the shaft below where it broke, so I threaded it and built an adapter to go from 1/2 pipe female to M 14 2.00 bolt threads and bolted it in. The threads on the shaft aren't the greatest but they held up to as tight as I could get the adapter threaded on. Just an idea for those of you who have one or may have broke one and pulled it out. I also built a spare adapter to carry with me to swap it out if need be.

Suggest that you contact BD and maybe they will send you a new one. If you do, let us know how BD treated you.

I jest put one on my truck and now wish I had done it 3 years ago. It makes it a lot easer to shift. Does any one know how they hold up.CG98x you are the first person that I have hard that has had trouble. If any one else has had trouble put it on here.
