I have a 04.5 3500 with 5.9l Cummins, I pull either a 12' or a 18' trailer loaded with motorcycles (4 in12'-7 in 18') to various race tracks throughout the country for motorcycle trackdays. I love this site, this is my 1st diesel and you guys have given plenty of excellent advice on how these things work. After making my first run in the truck from Walodrf, MD to Summit Point Raceway in West Va, I wanted to add something to my rig to make my pulling more efficient, I went with the Banks system. I wanted something that was pretty much a no-brainer for use and operation, did some research and was comfortable with their products. Ordered
the following items from banks via phone
six gun bundle-$1625.00
High Ram intake-$325.00
3 gauge pillar mount-$96.95
trans oil temp gauge-$66.95
paid $147.00 shipping and handling
Had American Diesel Power in Midlothian Va do install, I purch the following items from them:
AFE air filter-$325.00
Torque Tube-$185.00 pd $455.00 labor to have system installed, pd $250 to have exhaust installed, I like the system so far, I'm sure i could've gotten a more powerful system at a lower cost, but the Banks is idiot proof (which i need) i use position 3 all the time, was coming back from VIR in SW VA 3 weeks ago, pulling 12' with 4 motorcycles and 4 adults, got jumped by a ford 350 gasser, went to pos 4 and left him in the dust! mileage went from 13.2 mps to 15.6 with system installed (hand calc) i'll rovide furhter info in future posts, just wanted to add my 2cetns to the debate

That sounds like some pretty good mileage with the Banks kit.

There is rumor that on Level 4 the MPG's are better. The question I have is how are the EGT's

With just the Bank's you should be able to run 6 all day long empty and 4 on towing. EGT's are very low with just this box, but my $430 edge box was at least as powerful. I should have kept it and put a b-1 turbo in instead. Live and learn I guess.
