Banks converter
Generally I would not even ask anything about Banks, but what about there torque converters? Are they worth the money for half the price of a Goerend?
Thanks
Thanks

MMMmmmm.... Grits!!
Check on it but I believe their convertors were developed bt ATS. Nothing but real good stories about Dave Goerend and ATS from the credible people I know. 1/2 the price? That doesn't sound like Banks. Usually most price for least.

Winner winner chicken dinner!
I would stick with one of the proven ones that you see guys running on this site. Banks has a ton of money in advertising, but look at the big boys on this site and what they run (not many Banks). I will take a proven product by the big boys rather than a product I see in a bunch of magazines. Its always cheaper to do it once than twice.
I would say HTS,DTT,Gorend in any order you cant go wrong. Good luck.

Why I am asking is someone on ebay has rebuilt ones for just over $500. I asked him some questions and he atleast responded quickly and sounded knowledgable, although I know anyone can do that. Thanks for all the responses.

My buddy's got the Bank's convertor on his 2000 7.3 Powerstroke. He can't tell the difference over stock. In contrast,I had him drive my '98.5 w/DTT convertor. His eyes lit up!

i have had a couple converters, and the last one in my last truck was a banks 3 disc. it worked very well.
i also have a ats 5 disc sitting at home, and in the truck now is a suncoast.
the suncoast works well too. never tried the ats, but from what i hear, it works good, maybe a little harsh, but thats a 5 disc.
depends what you want and what your doing with the truck.
my buddy owns a tranny shop, and his supplier sells aftermarket converters and flex plates, he put their stuff in his truck, much cheaper then the big guys and his works really good too. just get rid of the stocker and go with whats in your budget, and maybe who is closer to you for warranty.
