Banks or ATS?
The next toy comin my way is an intake manifold. I know Banks has been around for ever but the 2 I seem to see getting used most are ATS and CFM+. What do you guys have/recommend?

If you look for a thread posted in this forum in the last week or so, a guy has pictures of an intake manifold he got on ebay for 160 after shipping that looked rather good. Just tossin that out there for ya...

anything but banks I have one that i got way back before i did my homework and the banks one has the bolts that go right through it that disrupts the air flow which is useless

i have a CFM and no complaints, do not expect major gains, slightly better throtle response, can not tell about egts, but it does cool down alot faster, gonna remove the grid heater this summer and see if that helps

From what I heard/read over the last so many yrs. is that there is almost never enough performance gain to justify the cost of the intake , some have actually found some decrease in performance .
Mostly depends on other mods , and the only 2 reasons to add are for competition , or because you like the looks of it & are willing to spend the money .
Then chasing the brands is hard because of the minimal difference with a wide variation of how others are using [ drive uses & mods ] .

I see where you guys are comin from on the cost vs performance. I figure i've already done a bit of fuel adding, cant afford a bigger turbo, So might as well see where i can gain air other ways before turbo time in a year or two.

If you just want to spend a little money, Id say buy yourself some RV 275's or some nozzles and get a little added power and fuel economy via injector swap... Didnt see any mention of aftermarket injectors in your sig.

The air horn is not the restriction in your air system. That is biggest money grabber I have seen in years. Buy some speakers, upgrade your stereo, exhaust tip, turbo fund.

Hahaha sorry no deal. I think turbo fund sounds best. True no injecter mods yet, The plan is to get new wheels and tires next year, Then turbo and some 75 or 90 inject's the year after. Theres someone that gets a little testy if i spend too much on my truck in one year. Im sure you guys know who im talkin about haha
