Band adjustment experts, power flow question

Lately my 48RE seems as if it shifts into 2nd and 3rd at the same time under light throttle (I only feel the second shift but it's actually in 3rd). Is this possible?

I think I remember reading somewhere in the past this could happen when the bands need to be adjusted. Which band would cause this condition and does anyone have a power flow diagram of the 48RE.

TIA,
Eric

What does it shift like when you give it at least 3/4 throttle?

Light throttle shifting is hard to tell because it is much more influenced by the gov solenoid and they are crappy. Use moderate to heavy throttle to determine if you need a band adjustment not light throttle.

If you're under light throttle, is it possible that it never downshifted into first to begin with? Maybe it's starting in second.

I have the same issue. After talking to Dave (Goerend) we have determined that my intermediate band (front) is trashed. I am out of adjustment on the bolt, so I guess it is time to refresh her....He wants me to drop in the billet strut, anchor and a heavy duty band.

I am trying to decide if I want to do a full rebuild at this time, or if the band will fix the "slipping" I am feeling. Probably better to just re-do the whole thing while it is out....

Good input fellas, I know for certain it's going into 1st. Moderate throttle shifts are great, just light throttle intermittently it literally shifts from 1st to 3rd its very strange, but I have a hunch I need to see where my bands are. Just an FYI this trans has a 115k miles on it.

Any 48RE power flow experts care to comment? Is this symptom even possible due to bands?

Thx,
Eric

Would not hurt to verify adjustment with that many miles.
