ball joint install

got the old ball joints out , going to install the Moog "problem solver joints in the a.m. noticed the lowers have numbers stamped at different positions on top. 0 2 5 6. I'm assuming they are camber adjusting degree numbers? can anybody tell me how they should be installed

What is it going on? year? 2wd? 4wd?

The ones I put on my 02 4x4 didn't have anything like that on them and I didn't notice anything wrong after installation, alignment shop didn't mention anything either...

Do the ball joints have any kind of out of roundness to them? the lip higher in some points than others? if there isn't something on it that would change the geometry of the suspension somehow I highly doubt it's adjustable.

01 2500 4x4, they don't look to be off centered, but wouldn't think it would take much to change camber slightly, (maybe not enough to notice with your eye)& the box being labeled "problem solver" & the numbers being evenly spaced around the top of the joint makes me think you can adjust them by the way you install them. anybody ever seen these?

I did an immense amount of research when I went to do my ball joints and I never saw anything like this mentioned. I also put in Moog ball joints on my truck but couldn't tell you if they had "problem solver" on the box or not, I don't pay much attention to stuff like that , honestly just sounds like a slogan to me more than anything else.

It doesn't take much, but it would be noticeable to the naked eye. If they appear to be nice and symmetrical I would confidently say there isn't anything you need to worry about... Also they would more than likely come with instructions if camber adjustment was an option, and since they are press fit it would be kind of hard to actually adjust anything without going through A LOT of trouble...

I dunno, maybe someone else will chime in with more knowledge than I, but I'd say you don't have anything to worry about.

I'm thinking you are most likely right, planed on installing them with the "0" number out toward the wheel. assuming that would be the closest to a oem joint setting, just in case there is something to this. appreciate your input. hope this goes back together easier than it came apart!!

It typically does from what I've read, I know mine did and I had a terrible time getting it apart! I went through four ball joint presses getting them out, and many expletives ... going back in was pretty smooth, and everything else went together smoothly. Good luck!

You peaked my interest though and I did some more looking, I did actually find some upper ball joints with +/-1deg camber adjustments for the 00-02 ram 2500, but couldn't find anything from moog. Also the ones I did find were noticably not symmetrical, so if yours are I'll stick to my original story .

I got mine from the local parts plus, price was pretty good but I get a deal through them. And yes both bottom and top you can get greaseable.
