back up lights

I noticed that my back up lights werent working so i took the cover off and the bulbs seemed fine so i tested them with a test light and i have no power to the lights. I was wondering if i should first start with the switch on the trani that tell the truck it is in reverse. Also if anyone could tell me which plug it was that would help. Any advice is appriatated

Did you check fuses? In the cab as well as at the power distribution center under the hood.

Have you tried to jump the wires at the connector to see if the lights come on?

well what i did is just poked inside the back of the connecter one was hot and one was not. so then i took it off and jumped them and the light came on. the problem now is all the parts stores are having a hell of a time trying to find the part. so if anybody knows the part number that would be great

You may have to go in to the dealer with the VIN#. DC used a few different vendors for the reverse switch. I took mine out and brought it to the dealer and they said to get the VIN cuz they have no way of telling which one I have.
