No such thing EGR filter?? Possible EGR cooler? P2262 code will be next, I see a new turbo in your future. I changed 3 last week after doing desoot and turbo clean lasted 3000 miles before check engine light came on again. At $3500 a pop no wonder Chrysler is going under.

Big Iron, yes egr cooler it is. The turbo on mine has been drilled & fitted w/a clean-out plug.. Does this mean they'll keep cleanin it???? Is the new turbo for 08-09 different???

they'll clean it once or twice, then likely will give you a new one. what have you used your warranty for, other than these emissions related things? you could always just ask for the new turbo, and take the other stuff off the truck. it'll last a lot longer.

true, haven't been to dealer except this emission crap!!! But don't want them to find some stupid loop-hole if something w/ the turbo, or computer or someother non-related thing happens..
I told the Service Mgr, i'm thinkin about taking egr&dpf and cat's off.. he then got the "back-ordered" parts magically!!!

removing the egr/dpf systems on your truck will most definitely eliminate the soot issues with these rigs. your motor is going to last longer, and the added mpg (3-5) benefit is just the cherry on top.

ok, when the egr/dpf is removed, doesn't the CEL stay on???? Hasn't anyone made a delete kit that tells the egr system EGT is correct& have the EGR open all the time??? THis makes sense to me!! I just don't know how to BS the computer....
Also, if u remove the emission crap, how can u get a bolt on kit (exhaust) that can be put back on for trips to DODGE??? (not sure??)
One more thing, does the ECU keep track of time EGR, Trans, and anything else is programmed??

EXACTLY!!! don't delete anything, unless your willing to foot the bill should Chrysler void your warranty. i figured that the only times (several at that), that my truck had been to the dealer was for emissions related problems, so i'd fix those problems for good and take a chance on anything else. my truck was in the dealer 3 or 4 times in just under it's first 9000 miles. hasn't been back at all since i did the deletes over 10,000 miles. so let's see, several dealer visits in 9000 miles, and zero visits in the last 10,000+ miles. i know which one works for me. and yes, i am fully prepared to pull out the wallet if anything happens and dodge doesn't want to cover it. really, i hate anyone working on my truck any way. so outside of serious motor work, i would rather pay and fix it myself. i've already pulled the dash on my truck to fix the crappy airflow problem in the megacabs. the dealer said it was within specs and working as designed. i pulled the dash myself and removed the rear air outlet diverters. problem solved and i knew it was done correctly. if i had it to do all over again, the deletes would have been done the very day i bought the truck. chrysler can keep their worthless warranty!

Dodge is more than willing to hose us on the assinine emmisions systems so why should we not be willing to do the same to them!!! I can have all of my stuff back on in 2 hours!
IF they would have just put a sticker on the windows of the truck saying that it is only to be used for trips of more than 100 miles and never used empty then yeah, it should be all on us. But when they sell a passenger vehichle to the general public then they need to be more flexable
BTW, my truck has not seen a dealer in over 12K miles with the deletes done

i won't get on the right or wrong of it. i am just saying to be prepared to pay. you can certainly install everything back to stock for a dealer trip if you like. but, if they detect a programmer (exceeded rpm, speed limiter etc.) or see things like abnormal spray patterns, then you better have the funds to fix what needs to be fixed, because they will deny your warranty in the blink of an eye if they can. especially in these lean times for manufacturers. and as a business owner, i wouldn't want to pick up the tab for unapproved alterations either. if my power windows, a/c, radio etc. take a crap, then i would certainly expect them to be fixed. but if something on my motor fails, i fully understand that i have thrown a $h!t load more power and performance at it. why should dodge have to pay for that?

And guess what, on my coffee run for the other half, the FRICKEN CEL came back on again..
Btw, what did u do with the A/C ducts???? I sure wish they had put f/r A/C in the MEGA.

I know that no two trucks are built the same but for me, I had no warranty because I bought in the USA and imported to Canada...to save 14,800.00 dollars! When I got told the warranty was restricted, I laughed. Why? Because I was in for emissions problems and had full intentions of deleting all of it. The truck now has 115,000 miles and 72,000 of that is without the smog stuff. I have not [yet] had to do anything else to the truck that could have been covered by the Dodge warranty. I tow heavy often.
I recently had the intake horn off of the truck, just to make sure my egr plates and gaskets where good. The insides where spotless! Prior to that...they were coated in black soot.
As I mentioned above, no two trucks are built the same but I bet that if you addressed the emissions stuff, you would be just fine. I netted a 42% improvement in fuel economy towing and empty. Up from 6-7 towing and up from 14 empty on the hwy. Thats averaged over the last 65,000 miles. I took a bit of time deleting the complete system.
Hope it works out for you. Would I have left the smog stuff on if my warranty was not restricted...no. JMHO

That line if ya wanna play be prepared to pay...is so so true. Been there a few times.
