axle splines
#3
The '01 service manual doesn't say but removing a rear hubcap then removing the axle bolts from the rear wheel hub, you can pull an axle without taking off the rear wheel or jacking up the truck and count the splines easily. Safety hubs are neat.

Not much point removing the axle shaft to count splines.....the D80 in Dodges were only ever offered with 1.5" 35 spline shafts as Newriverspecon mentioned. There were larger D80 OEM shafts but only on some medium duty trucks - never in a Dodge.

The NUT is right. I just put in an ARB locker and changed the gears to 4.10's and the 80 only came with a 35 spline 1.5" shaft. No need to tear apart your truck. We wouldnt lie to you.
