Axle Seals

Is there a way to change both axle seals in the front end without pulling the chunk? I wonder if there is a way to just put some in from the end of the axle tube, that will work in place of the stock ones. If no one has tried that, I guess I will volunteer to try something. It would seem with all the seals made today that there should be one that will slide over the axle & into the axle tube. Any ideas will be greatly appreciated. On another note, has anybody replaced their HUB ASSEMBLY on the front end with the ones NAPA sells? I am about to replace the third one since APRIL 1, 2004. My dealership told me they sell these all the time, and have never had a problem. DAM LIARS !! I called a shop that deals with strictly trucks. A mechanic there told me that he had replaced the original, with 3 from NAPA. He said he would get about a month out of each one before detonation. He told me that he got one from DODGE & has had NO more trouble with it. So, BEWARE of the NAPA hub assemblies for the DANA FRONT ENDS.

To have a seal at the end of the axle tube there would have to be a bearing also to keep the shaft centered. Otherwise the seal would last about two minutes. Bearing would need to be lubed also.
