axle nut
Anyone know what size the rear axle nut is on a 97 3500? I am talking about the nut that holds the bearing in on the end of the axle at the wheel.

I believe it's 1-9/16.

I though it was in the 2-9/16" arena? Could be wrong, but 1-9/16 seems to be the size for the front.

It's a 2-9/16"
You need a special axle nut socket that has rounded corners.
Most auto parts have them for under $30

20 bucks at NAPA as of 2 weeks ago and it's the 2-9/16 size.
