Axle flip on a 30 ft Coachman 5er.

Not that hard of a job. Took about 4 hours using a Dexter kit.

Did they have you flip the axle or remount the spring perches?

Looks good BTW!

The dexter kit comes with new perches that have 2 bolts welded to them. Once you have the new perches on and everything is bolted on snug you use adjusters that are threaded on the new perch bolts to position everything. No welding needed. You don't really flip the axle, you just move it under the springs. I'll get a better picture of it all put together. It's kind of hard to explain.

Thanks! I'd like to see that.

I'll be doing the same thing this summer. I have Dexter axles as well. Did you have to "align" the axles afterwards? Or are they tracking straight?

No problems tracking. You'll still use the pins in the leaf springs to align everything.

Just a few more questions: Did you use new bolts for the leaf springs too, or just the axle? Also, I looked back at the pictures and see the pin your referring to.

Where did you get your kit?

Thanks again, and thanks for the pictures you posted.

This is the kit I ordered.
http://www.dexteraxle.com/inc/sdetail/1099
They make a 2 3/8th and a 3" kit. Make sure you measure your axles. I made the mistake of ordering a 3" when I needed a 2 3/8ths so now I have an extra tandem axle 3" kit laying around I haven't sent back yet. I also ordered this kit
http://dexteraxle.com/inc/sdetail/1047 since all my bushings (plastic) were shot and most of the bolts weren't in that great of shape. Looks like I'll be dropping the axles this weekend and installing everything. Should have ordered both at the same time.

Excellent, thanks for the info. I’ll be sure to refer to this site when getting ready to flip my axles.

I did the flip on the 30' toy hauler I used to have, but I used regular weld-on spring perches.

I just made sure they were even and square with the stock perch on the other side of the tube.
