Aux tank
Hey guys just got a super deal on a RDS 51 gallon tank box combo. Traded the guy for a toolbox I payed $50 bucks for. Looked at em on the net, and they are like $550. I'm stoked! Now for the question: I found this gravity feed setup from Northern. Is this a good method, (and legal), or should I fiddle with valves and pumps, yada yada yada? Click on accessories- http://www2.northerntool.com/product-1/200306719.htm
Thanks

My cousin used to run one with a gravity flow. He was later told by a DPS trooper that it is illegal in Texas. Id check it out on the DOT site.

Its not by where youre from. If TX DOT checks out your truck, they can ticket you for whatever breaks their laws. Its highly doubtful they would check that, but ya never know.

I have never seen anything that says gravity feed from an aux tank is illegal for diesel fuel.
I have all the DOT regs for aux tanks at home too since that's what I used to setup the tank I built.

It is possible that Texas doesn't allow it, though when I did the research I didn't find anything that led me to believe that any state said no to it.
States having different laws is pretty frustrating for people that move around alot, like I do (military). It's also ridiculous to thing that a person traveling cross country needs to learn all the laws of each state he's passing though.
Even though you are registered in a specific state, you have to follow the laws of the state your driving in.
