I bought my truck about 6 weeks ago and when I got it, the previous owner had installed a Pyrometer/Trans temp/boost gauge setup on the A-pillar. They were all Autometer Phantom II gauges. The lights all worked, but the only gauge that worked was the boost gauge. When I checked, I discovered the trans gauge wasn't hooked up to a probe. I checked with autometer because the pyrometer was stuck at 400 degrees. They had me send the probe back and they repaired it for about 25 dollars and shipped it back to me. I just got it yesterday and when I installed it, I noticed the needle was pegged at 16000 degrees. I checked all of the connections, and took the truck for a drive, but the needle is still stuck all the way to the right. Any idea what could cause this? Would this be a failed probe? (even when I removed the probe wires the needle never moved). Or maybe the gauge was damaged in shipping? I'm sure autometer will fix the problem, but it's just a pain to have to ship it back again!

I'd send it all back for a working set, somethings haywire between the two.
