Auto Tranny Gauge install

Helping a freind with 98.5, auto tranny, he's gotten a new trailer and wants to upgrade some things on his truck, he has an Edge EZ arleady, he ordered air intake kit, and exhaust this weekend, and we're setting him up gauges, my ? is, where does the probe go for the tranny gauge, i've never had auto's so not forsure, there is a cooling line with the T in it that he can buy for like 80.00.. i thought that was kinda high?? or is there somewhere on the tranny to hook into? Thanks for the info....

You can just use a compression T fitting and put it in the pressure line to the cooler. Thats what I did. Over 10K miles now and no leaks. They use a swage-loc fitting in the line from dieselmanor, but all of the swage-loc dealers that I spoke with said it was overkill. Just my .02 !

Best place is in the hot line on its way to the cooler. Lease expensive way is probably listed above, or you can go to Vulcan or Genos and get an adapter that you can put in the rubber hose just prior to the cooler for about $12 bucks. All the ports in the tranny are test ports only and don't always have the hot fluid in them. Good luck.

Thanks for the info, i also saw somewhere the auto meter has a "T" fitting that goes into the cooler line, probably the same thing?

The Autometer one isnt big enough....its for 3/8" tubing, you need one for 1/2"
