Auto door unlocker

When i bought my truck, it came with only one auto door unlocker....Now this one is not working so well with a new battery even....Is there any place to get these things without paying Dodge full price? I hate using the key....!

you could also look at an aftermarket system. go to a couple places which deal with aftermarket auto/electronics, tell them your problem and se what they recommend. an entry level auto-security system might be cheaper than a new remote from dodge . . .

Mine started acting up a while back too. New batteries, still nothing. I took mine apart and cleaned the rubber pads and the areas on the circuit board where those pads touch, with a Q tip and rubbing alcohol. Put it back together and it works perfectly again.

You'd be surprised how much dirt there is under the rubber pads.

I'd suggest you repair/replace your key fob with factory items. You can purchase them off of Ebay, just be sure the number on the back of the one you have matches the one you purchase.

If you go with an aftermarket system there will come a day you'll wish you had made a different decision. When they fail you now have a mess of wiring to figure out and replace. Just do it right the first time!

Don't know the steps for that but I do know that I bought one off ebay and it worked fine but I ad to have it programmed at the dealer ($35). My actuators recently quit so I am now going the aftermarket keyless entry route. For about $100 you get keyless entry and basic alarm system.
