I just finished the installation of the brake, airbags, and air spring control kit. I ran into one problem that I want to share. When removing the turbo elbow V clamps, make sure you are very carefull not to break them. Actually be most concerned with the clamp that connects the back of the turbo to the top of the factory elbow.

That clamp in not a standard V clamp that could be had at any truck parts store. It has more of a \___/ than a \_/. I spoke with pacbrake and they recommended I not use a regular V, as it would probably leak.

I was in for a real suprise when I went to Dodge to get a new one. First off they didn't have it in stock and secondly they wanted 98.00 for it. I went to a Sterling dealership and they ordered one for me from cummins. It was shipped out overnight and ended up costing me 50.00. Nobody on Long Island had one including Cummins Metropower in the bronx.

The instructions do say to lubricate the threads before removing as not to damage them. I sprayed them down with PB blaster which is one of the best lubricating sprays I've used.

Maybe most people dont wait 4 years and 70K miles to install theirs and it is not that big of an issue, but do be carefull. It could turn a 1 day project into several.

On a side note, everything works awesome and Pacbrake was a pleasure to deal with.

one little trick is to also use your lube and tap the clamp with a soft hammer just to help break it free from the turbo.

I had NO problems whatsoever. Sprayed a little PB Blaster on the threads first, backed off the nut w/o issue. I realize my 2006 out here in the desert is going to have a lot less rust/etc-no real moisture here, but we do get snow and they do use salt. Older vehicles need several shots and some soak time with the PB Blaster, even good to spray it on and start the engine, let the engine/exhaust heat help penetrate. Before re-using/re-installing the clamp, you should also take the time to thoroughly clean it, makes for better/easier install.
