HAVE AFTER MARKET WARRENTY WHO WILL PAY FOR AFTERMARKET TTRANNY UP TO WHAT THE CHRYSLER TRANNY WOULD COST ( I PAY THE DIFFERENCE . I AM IN MICH AND NEED A TRANNY THAT IS GOING TO STAY WITH ME FOR A LONG TIME. HAVE SEEN THESE ATS or DTT TALKED ABOUT A LOT WHERE CAN I GET ONE?

Check out the classifieds on this site, they have links to these tranny remanufactories. I also know a DTT or ATS ditributor somewhere around holland area if you are interested. He has one in his truck and I am sure he would let you drive it to feel what it drives like. I have the info at home, can get it to you later if you are interested.

I honestly feel you will be happy with either one. People that have DTT swear by it, and the people that have ATS swear by it. I feel they are both darn good tranny's...call and see which one you can get the best pricing with.

Just curious, for now anyway. From a technical standpoint, what is the difference between the different aftermarket companies? I've been reading stuff here and on their websites, and I gather they have different ideas and technical approaches to overcoming the design limitations. Can anyone briefly summerize their differences?

That would be a good question to ask each of them if you contact them.

I'm not trying to brush you off, but that type of discussion usually turns sour very fast when it is discussed on a forum. Honestly, each company would be best qualified to give you an answer anyway. Best to get technical facts right from the horse's mouth. People are entitled to their opinions, but they are just that, opinions.

Do a quick search on either brand if you want and you will get ALOT of opinions.

Forgot to ask them,sure it will be in literature that comes with it, what type fluids are being used in them?

I'm not sure, but I think I read something about break in fluid, then what fluid you should run after that. Like you said, I'm sure it will come in the literature.

I'm jealous Herb, I wish I was putting one of those in my truck.

Called ATS to satisfy my curiousity and they said to use valvoline dextron 3 and to change reguarly at 15000 mile intervals

Dextron 3 is what most tranny rebuilders recommend.

Herb, is the Dodge dealer going to do the install or do you get to go elsewhere?

yea, the dodge dealer is doing the install. I am ok with this because i know the guy personally who is doing the work and he is meticulous about his work. Good for futere warranty work if i am on the road/ just pull into a dodge dealership.
