You dont need a clutch to Dyno....
umm, if you put it on a load dyno, which is the better dyno. You do need a good clutch or it will slip it and burn it! Done it on my mustang on my buddies dynojet

yes he's goin to have to get a DD. it'll hold sometimes. if he keeps it cool it'll hold. and yes it's a load dyno. i bet i can take the nasty and win the lowest hp and tq. maybe corey will be able to come down and take the big number home. i doubt he will cause it's at the ford boys home and he'd hate to be shown up by a 7.3.

John's is a dyno dynamics. What dynojet does BTS have? The 248H Dynojets are inertia dyno's and not load cell dyno's. I think the Dynojet 250 is a load cell.

well guys we got a little bit of trouble with the dyno day.
ED got a call from Cale at bts and he said that he didn't think it was going to be as big of a deal as its turning into
he said that he can only dyno 3 trucks an hour so we can only have around thirty trucks dyno. so we have a 30 truck limit. so the first 100% sure trucks that respond before December 31st will be the ones dynoing.
he also said to make it faster and easier to dyno we need to have only singal exhaust. so the one running duals or dual stacks need to figure out a way to block of one side that way we can keep as much black smoke out of the shop as possible.
The price has went up $10. he said if it was just 10-12 trucks it wouldnt be that big of a deal but 30 plus the cost will be more on his end so he is charging an $45 instead of the $35 that he said before.
lastly he said if the weather is real cold and nasty we will have to reschedule to a later date when the weather is better.
we hope to still have all that wants to come and watch. yall have a good day.

Fewer truck I can understand it takes 20min or more to dyno a truck and 50 show up and are upset because they don't get to dyno. But more $?????? The dyno is in the shop but it has to be warm out, maybe opening and closeing doors will let in to much cold air? I've never been to their shop so please fill us in. If heats a problem maybe a few of you guy have kerosen heaters to help with that problem.

I have been folowing this thread ever since it started and I cant believe what is happening...It looks like to me that the plan from the beginning was to start the price off low and get up the interest and then say SORRY but now we need 45 dollars a pull thats bull S..It seemed to me that everyone was wanting to get together and have some fun but now that everyone knows that the whole deal is crooked I doubt they will come...As for it being to COLD well I'm no Meteorologist but I'd say there is a pretty good chance of it being cold outside on Jan 10th....So lets build it up and Friday the 9th cancel....
Gear Jammer
12-13-2008, 12:30 PM
Yeah I don't get the whole cold bit or raising the price. So with little interest it was $35 and now with more it's $45? Come on guys seriously are you kiddin? I still plan to dyno as to the others with me but to gouge us an extra $10? I would think the added publicity would do nothing but help the business. I don't want to run down BTS or those helping with the day but it does seem like an odd turn of events.

well i talked to cale. it was originaly discussed aproximately 12 trucks was goin to show. all of a sudden it's now tripled in attendance. which means alot more wear on the dyno. if this starts at 10am, and 40 tucks, 3 per hour, do the math. be done round 11pm. they are good guys and i don't blame them for the price change, especially since it's all of a sudden this attendance has been upped so much. cale's not money grubby i know for a fact s don't think that.

What the he!! were they expecting. There are a lot of diesels in the area and there is nothing diesel oriented to do over the winter. It maybe more wear ont he dyno but why have it if that is all you are concerned about. I just don't feel like that is a justifyable reason to raise the prices. I realize that at 3 trucks an hour it would take all day which is fine but why was it talked up so much on this board and others if they didn't want a crowd? Pack I am not mouthing you and I appreciate you getting this info, I just feel that this event should have been a little more researched before they set a date and planned it. I still plan to attend just a little confused on the turn of events.

You need to let us know the # of openings that are still available.
What about the temperature? Does it have to be above what temp? Does wind matter? A shop was mentioned? Can people get inside if it's cool out? If this is going to be a big event maybe some info can be passed out to the atttendess so we can help make it a better event.

Well doesnt matter, i have a buddy real close one that owns this dyno, from Floor It diesel, so i'll host an event this spring, bring all the trucks you want, beer, women, poles, crabs, cars, tractors, beer, o wait, CRABS? No leave them little things some where else. No for real, if i can get the sponsors i will try to put somethin together
Corey talk with straightpiperoar over on the diesel place. He has some ideas and possibly a place for the dyno day. If you can't get him there I will relay some info back and forth. For a small fee of course! [laugh]

Their probably just scared a Dodge is going to show up and make their Ford look bad. Tell them Dodge boys it'll cost them more and it might be to cold for their Ford to run and a Dodge can handle the cold so they would really look bad.
I figure they won't have it again after a few Dodge's show them hows it's done.
Hate to see some of our best running trucks not show up and hand it to them just because their Ford is scared.

I stayed around the house Saturday afternoon. Had a customer bringing 3 horses over for us to board while he goes to Hawaii this week. Wish it was me with the weather forecast they gave out. I'm going to have to put a new exhaust manifold on before the race in June. Mine finally decided to crack across the top. Had to put a new heater coil in it over the Christmas holiday break also. I doubt if I'm much over 600hp on the bottle right now with the Mach 4s. I need more fuel to go with the nitrous before I hit the dyno again.

Get that dyno day set up so I can dyno this thing with the delete pipe in now. I might have to go back down to BTS just to use the same dyno and see what if anything I've gained.

John Powel (the white dmax) is going back when he gets his new motor in. Might see if you can catch up with him and do it at the same time.

i really wish i could have made it down there. both the megacabs with dual stacks and the gy who won are from cassville. I'm just ready for sled pulling season to start back up again. I was pretty pleased with how my truck competed last year still running stock pump and injectors. if this dyno is comparable to floor its i would have like to seen what the truck put down since switching the tuing and adding the cam and pump! oh well next time i'm on a dyno it'll be a little better anyway

The more of us that know about the pull the more will be in them to make a better payout.
Of course you are in it to win and some of us just to have fun and watch. I'll have to find out what kind of abuse my aisin trans can take.

I have alot of fun when im at these things. Its great to meet up with all you turds. Yes, taking a top spot everynow and then is cool. But i have just as much fun, if i got a 3rd or 4th. It depends on the line of trucks that ur up against also.
Best thing about me, not sure where ill pull next. I may be at a pull in KY one night, and your hometown pull the next.[laugh]
