Doing very early preliminary research on the possibility of an online tire store. I have a old friend that owns a Big-O that I'll chat with tomorrow. I just wanted to see if there was any info out on the boards while I was sitting around tonight.

I know it's pretty cut throat on the every day car tires.

You can make some money on specialty tires, offroad, drag racing, trailer, atv, etc. "IF" you can get in on the deep deal with the manufacturer.

I know I can but a lot of specialty tires / wheels cheaper than say Discount Tire can. It's all who you know.

Good Luck !!

Gotta be big volume.Valve stems got a lot more profit in them then do the tires.LOL Years ago I was with Firestone tire company not a franchise.Profit was slim on tires. They RAISED cane if you gave or cut the price on a rubber valve stem! Kept track of each one at $2.00 each. They cost a nickel or less.Tire business is cutthroat.I mean tires only. Not other services.Thats the money. The OTHER stuff.Won't have that on tires by mail.Of course I have not been in that business for years.Did sell tires on the phone for a company for a little while way back.Used DB book.Sold a bunch of differant brands from many countries.Pennys made on the dollar. Then again a long time ago for me.

Not at liberty to disclose all the details, but I can get very popular tires at almost 50% off direct from manufacturer. Cheaper than any tire dealers I know of. Like they say, it's all who you know.
