Anyone Using TranSynd?

Gentlemen and ladies,NOT to start a flame session but, anyone have documented proof (not propaganda) of any actual mileage or temperature improvements relating to synthetic over the usual transmission fluids? This would be for an Allison 542,16,000 gvw.
Thanks all

Using TranSynd in 400 trucks(give or take a few) with great results. They shift better, run a bit cooler and go alot longer between overhauls. Plus you need to use it to keep the 5yr warrenty from Allison. I just got a new drum last week 1300 dollars!!!!!!!!!!

"skidder" with only 400 units you think you have a good baseline? Thanks for the reply, my 542 likes to get warm on grades.Prior owner added a fan to the trans cooler with a toggle on the dash. The 542 runs cool, heats up well on a grade 4th or 3rd,cools down fairly quickly.Do I worry or change the fluid and filters @ 52,000 and furgedaboutit?

The smaller trans are hard on fluid........on our 545's we used the biggest coolers we could cram in front of the rad and 1 1/4 cooler lines ( FC-300) We also installed the biggest spin-on filters we could find. Keep the fluid fresh and clean, it should go for a long time.

Skidder, copy that on the cooler.I was thinking(carefully) about disconnecting the fluid to water cooler and going with a fluid to air cooler.(1)Get the trans heat out of the engine system and,(2) dump the btu's from the trans. into the atmosphere. Also looking at 5/6 speed transmissions.Must be same sae mount, able to accept parking drum on back and, come with shift controls.Since I have a pusher,I almost wonder if a better idea would be to mount the coolers up front and run the lines 30 feet to the rear?Imput accepted

If it were me, I don't think I would the loose the stock water to air cooler, it helps with warm up in the winter. i would come out of the stock cooler into a big aux cooler mounted in front of the rad. I don't think I would make the lines any longer than needed......its hard to keep them from rubbing. If you have 3/4" lines I would however jump up to 1 1/4.

I don't have any proof, but I run it in my truck, change fluid every 30,000 miles, it seems to run a few degrees cooler going by the gage. (But you know how inaccurate those factory gages can be!!!!!!) I started with Amsoil first, and it ran much hotter then stock fluid, and it seemed to slip the tranny pretty easy. After about 10,000 miles of amsoil, I switched, and have been happy with it.... The amsoil ran at least 25* hotter then with TranSynd.

I run synthetic in the diffs, engine, tranny, and transfer case. Maybe I am wasting my money, maybe not. I really don't know, but it gives me peace of mind. (So it is worth it!)
